Question Title

How can I deposit research data at UBC Library?

FAQ Question content

UBC Library supports two curated repositories that meet most funder and publisher requirements for data deposit, increasingly mandated by funders like the Tri-Agencies:

  • UBC Dataverse Collection (Borealis): a national repository for more than 90 Canadian institutions, curated by UBC Library. Best for small to medium-sized datasets; supports DOI assignment, access controls, and FAIR principles.
  • Federated Research Data Repository (FRDR): a national platform curated by the Digital Research Alliance of Canada, designed for large-scale datasets (terabytes).

UBC Library can also help identify discipline-specific repositories. Visit the Deposit page or contact research.data@ubc.ca to request a consultation.
